SKLITAKLING

Energetic, uncompromising, and driving old-school punk that hits you straight in the heart—and below the belt!

After releasing their debut album in December 2023, they have had a busy year touring.

The Bergen-based band Sklitakling released their second EP, “Vi har hørt det før” (“We've Heard It Before”), in December 2022 through Back to Beat Records. It received glowing reviews both domestically and internationally. The American magazine Maximum Rocknroll described it as “two doses of addictive Norwegian garage punk” and “This is everything punk is meant to be.”

On December 1, 2023, their long-awaited debut album was finally released, earning rave reviews and coverage from publications like Klassekampen, Dagsavisen, VG, Ballade, Musikkavisen Puls, Disharmoni, and Bergens Tidende, along with international attention.

Sklitakling plays punk infused with a touch of garage and post-punk. Known as a highly energetic live band, they guarantee great vibes and just the right amount of noise!

Selected Press Highlights on the Album

Bergens Tidende’s reviewer called the album a “beast, with short, effective, and driving old-school punk tracks.” He also noted that the band has “nerve, chaotic energy, and lyrical wit,” adding that they are “uncompromisingly primitive, direct, and energetic.”
— Joakim Randa Berthelsen, Bergens Tidende, December 13, 2023.

“Think the aggression of Razika’s ‘Faen ta deg’ meeting Turbonegro’s ‘Ass Cobra!’, but with fiercer guitars and heavy activist undertones.”
— Tor Martin Bøe, VG, December 2, 2023.
(Songs of the Week, Week 48: Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, and Sklitakling - VG)

“The finest straightforward punk band in quite a while.”

Article

“It hits the nerves, the heart, and sometimes below the belt. Some have said Sklitakling makes you want to smash someone over the head with a cobblestone. My brain feels awash in dopamine; this is pure joy.”
— Kjersti Egge, Ballade, January 3, 2024.

Dagsavisen (on “Hunden”):
“This is the punk track of the week—a real mixed-breed battle anthem with energy that could wake the dead.”
— Mode Steinkjer, Dagsavisen, September 15, 2023.
(Track review: Synne Sørgjerd, Louien, Tuva Syvertsen, Sklitakling — Dagsavisen)
