while the néaunord project further accelerates towards its first transmission lines to be etched into wax, it is about time to kick off the event series by packing some of Tromsø's best-(and-not-as-well)hidden talents behind the turntables to celebrate the hippest deep synthetic and synergetic brain-and-body-beat-based workout cuts together!
Additionally, with Kristoffer Lislegaard, néaunord invites one of the most exciting electronic live-sets in Norway, providing a rare occasion for us to witness his experienced approach to complex layers and textures in such intimate surroundings.
Cramming ourselves into the intimate living room that is Bastard Bar, we'll experience an exquisite club night with a live concert that bends boundaries (as all club events claim to do, but trust me for this one..!)

Kristoffer Lislegaard (LIVE)
For many, it was the opening act for the legendary Autechre at Sentrum Scene that really opened their eyes to Kristoffer Lislegaard, and since the release of the album Floating Body / Diving Mind, things have rarely been quiet for this cheerful mood-setter, originally from Drøbak. There's been the studio album Subsupra, and the Autechre concert has been released as both a live album and a video. In addition, there’s been a steady stream of videos claiming that the synth YouTube scene is corrupt, blog posts about the ups and downs of life on tour, and late-night live streams on his DIY streaming platform, Lislegaard.stream.
Lislegaard’s fascination with different sounds, moods, and approaches to electronic sound design culminates in an exciting sonic universe into which the listener can lose themselves, for example on Subsupra, where he explores the relationship between foreground and background elements in the music and plays with the listener’s expectations and norms regarding how sounds are typically presented. It oscillates between sections where the background sounds are louder than the main melody and sound design where he has used noise-canceling software in reverse, so that only the “noise” comes through.
Lislegaard’s most recent concerts have also featured an ambitious visual package that he triggers and manipulates live in tandem with the music, which is improvised around, over, and beneath it. Get ready for a treat!
Machine Grrrl (DJ)
Machine Grrrl is one of the North's best hidden secrets. Usually found in her secret rave-cave a couple of hours drive away from the city, she has amassed tons of knowledge on both the global and Northern Norway's local rave history, playing an important part in everything an unforgettable 90s party needs; from the music, decorations, values and organization to producing solid nostalgia-induced tracks for the dancefloor. On 15.08, Machine Grrrl finally returns behind the decks to remind us what it's really all about.
Guse (DJ)
Guse is the proud owner of Brokken Records, a record shop whose influence on the local music scene already now is ripe for the history books through it's immense influence on the local music scene. Guse has always been an avid collector of records, synthesizers and soundmachines along with a vast pile of influences from across the globe. He blends new and old expressions across the spectrum of electronic club music, always carrying surprising selections in his record bag.
grisha223 (DJ)
grisha223 links sound performances to cultural critique and spatial explorations. She builds custom instruments and uses improvisation to create experiences unique to the very moment and space they are performed in.
Her DJ sets focus on contrast, tension and shifting atmospheres, all the while never letting go of the flow of moving bodies.
