Hammok is the scene Oslo couldn't keep to itself. The trio returns with When Does This Place Become Our Scene, their Sargent House debut, drawing raves for its noise-rock ferocity and pop-sharp hardcore hooks. Known for their DIY ethos and legendary Hammok House Parties, the trio bring basement-show intensity to every stage.

Tobias Osland (vocals/guitar), Ferdinand Aasheim (drums), and Ole Benjamin Thomassen (bass) have been playing together since they were kids. The current lineup came together in the early pandemic, with the band name borrowed, half as a joke, from garden furniture written in Metallica font. It stuck. After their 2022 EP JUMPING/DANCING/FIGHTING, Hammok announced themselves properly at ESNS 2023 with a show at VERA that left the room shaken. Dutch tastemaker 3voor12 called it "the second-best show at ESNS 2023." A run of festival mayhem followed that summer, including Best Kept Secret, Arctangent, Core Fest, and Indiestadt/Paradiso. 2024 brought their debut album, Look How Long Lasting Everything Is Moving Forward For Once, and with it a full European and UK tour that built the foundation for everything since.

After a year spent writing and refining, Hammok signed to Sargent House and emerged with When Does This Place Become Our Scene, released June 2026. Twelve tracks deep, the record pushes the band's hardcore roots into industrial and pop territory without losing an ounce of urgency. It's built around a simple question Osland kept returning to on tour: what does it mean to be alone, and what does it mean to find your scene?

The press has taken notice. Apple Music called it a giant leap for the band. Everything Is Noise described it as "one of the most fulfilling, stereo-nuking noisy punk albums in quite a while." Kerrang praised the record's blistering urgency, and Stereogum flagged lead single "The Scene" as an exhilarating mission statement for everything Hammok is about.

The bands community-first approach isn't a talking point; it's how the band operates. Known for their DIY ethos and legendary Hammok House Parties, the trio bring basement-show intensity to every stage. Hammok have never stopped building the scene around them. Now they're inviting everyone else in.
